I began this blog when I created this new website last year. Wow, it sounds funny saying that because last year was just a few days ago. I was going to post all kinds of awesome posts every week. Then time got ahead of me and the next thing I knew it was the holidays, so I promised myself that 2015 was going to be the year. The year for everything awesome. That includes writing this blog even if thousands of people never see it. Negativity will not be allowed to give me excuses to not write. If only for me, then so be it.
This brings me to this image above, which I took with a new mirrorless camera. It is a small camera but packs the power of the cameras I use in the studio and on location to create images for my clients. These small cameras are the future, I will not fear this new technology, but embrace it. I remember when my husband and I decided to go digital at Lifetime Photography, our company we started in 1991. We began with with film cameras. Big medium format cameras. It would be a few years before we would actually use a digital camera for our professional work but we practiced with the early digital cameras right along side our big film cameras. When we finally went digital we knew what we needed to do to make the transition as smooth as possible. It has always been the size of a camera and the lens that make people feel like they are dealing with a professional photographer. That will change with technology and I want to be ready when it does. I really love what I am getting with this camera. I hope to post more images as I work with it along side my studio cameras. I hope you stay tuned and I invite your feedback. Here is to 2015 the year of Awesome. I promise.
Hillary and Daniel's wedding is September 13, 2014 and I am so excited to be their wedding photographer. The first time I photographed Hillary was for her senior portraits which was such an honor for me. She is so beautiful and such a sweet girl. These images are from the engagement session we had earlier this summer. I offer an engagement session to my wedding clients when they book their wedding with me. This session is a great way for us to get to know each other a little better and create some great images they can enjoy and share before the wedding day. Hillary and Daniel live in Indiana so we chose Mount St Francis, a beautiful outdoor setting close by. I have a pretty good idea this wedding is going to be beautiful so check back later this month for a sneak peek after the wedding and I will tell you all about it.
